DTN Closing Grain Comments 07/18 13:49 Corn, Soybeans, Soymeal Jump to Big Gains on Coming Weather Threat Despite improved crop ratings for corn and soy revealed on Monday's crop progress report, corn and soybeans surged Tuesday as the forecast looks much warmer and drier for the next two weeks. Soybean meal surged to a sharp gain for the fourth consecutive day. Bean oil and Minneapolis wheat both set back a bit from recent strength, with both finishing lower. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed up 28 1/2 cents per bushel at $5.35 and December corn was up 28 1/2 cents at $5.35. November soybeans closed up 17 1/4 cents at $13.95 and November soybeans were up 17 1/4 cents at $13.95. September KC wheat closed up 12 cents at $8.27, September Chicago wheat was up 17 cents at $6.71 and September Minneapolis wheat was down 3/4 cent at $8.78.
