DTN Early Word Grains 08/04 05:33 Grain Prices Higher as Ukrainian Attack on Russian Port Escalates War, Temporarily Shuts Down Shipping December corn is up 10 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 13 cents, September KC wheat is up 10 1/2 cents, September Chicago wheat is up 18 1/4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is up 8 1/2 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is up 10 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 13 cents, September KC wheat is up 10 1/2 cents, September Chicago wheat is up 18 1/4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is up 8 1/2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mostly higher Friday morning, rebounding from another lower session on Thursday as traders anticipate Friday morning's employment numbers from the U.S. labor department. Interest rates are now at the highest levels seen this year, as traders are anticipating that the Fed will keep current rates high longer than the market had previously anticipated. This rally in interest rates has helped the U.S. dollar rebound from recent trade below 100 to current levels over 102.50. Expectations for Friday morning's employment report are a gain of 200,000 jobs and an unemployment rate holding steady at 3.6%. Thursday's data was mixed, with weekly jobless claims steady, U.S. Productivity higher than expected, factory orders higher than expected, and the ISM services index lower than expected. We are currently on track for a lower weekly close in equities, the first in four weeks. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 66.63 at 35,215.89 and the S&P 500 down 11.50 at 4,501.89, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.19%. Early Friday, the September Dow Jones Futures are up 48 points. European markets are higher with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.11%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading up 0.13% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 0.54%. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 0.1% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.23%.
