DTN Closing Grain Comments 08/09 13:46 Grain Markets Can't Hold Early Gains And Leak Lower; Soybeans, Bean Oil Firm Grain and soy markets began Wednesday with solid gains as corn and beans built on Tuesday's late recovery. However, those gains were short-lived, with wheat, corn and soybean meal closing in negative territory, while soybeans and bean oil finished with modest gains. Chicago wheat was under the most pressure throughout Wednesday, closing sharply lower. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed down 4 1/2 cents per bushel at $4.94 and March corn was down 4 cents at $5.08 1/4. November soybeans closed up 2 1/2 cents at $13.09 and January soybeans were up 2 3/4 cents at $13.18 1/2. September KC wheat closed down 9 cents at $7.62, September Chicago wheat was down 21 1/4 cents at $6.35 and September Minneapolis wheat was down 11 1/4 cents at $8.20.
