DTN Early Word Grains 08/10 07:17 Crop Prices Start on the Plus Side Early Thursday December corn was up 2 1/2 cents, November soybeans were up 10 cents and September KC wheat was up 8 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn was up 2 1/2 cents, November soybeans were up 10 cents and September KC wheat was up 8 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Thursday, Dow Jones futures are trading higher ahead of a 7:30 a.m. CDT report on July consumer prices that seems almost sure to come in higher. Also, at 7:30 a.m., USDA's weekly export sales report will be out along with U.S. weekly jobless claims and an update of the U.S. Drought Monitor. The U.S. Energy Department's report on natural gas storage is at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Treasury budget for July at 2 p.m. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 191.13 at 35,123.36 and the S&P 500 Index down 31.67 at 4,467.71. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.01%. Early Thursday, September Dow Jones futures are up 174 points. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.67%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.62% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.98%. Asian markets are also higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.84% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.31%.
