DTN Closing Grain Comments 08/15 13:49 Outside Market Pressure, Improving Crop Conditions Lead to Grain and Soy Selloff More economic bad news reported by China sent crude oil and equities lower, adding to pressure on grain and soy markets. That, coupled with a better-than-expected improvement in both the corn and soybean crops last week, sent most markets reeling Tuesday, with soybean oil the lone exception. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed down 12 1/4 cents per bushel at 4.76 and March corn was down 12 1/4 cents at 4.89 1/4. November soybeans closed down 20 3/4 cents at 13.05 and January soybeans were down 19 1/4 cents at 13.15 1/2. December KC wheat closed down 13 3/4 cents at 7.46, September Chicago wheat was down 17 1/2 cents at 5.99 and September Minneapolis wheat was down 17 3/4 cents at 7.88.
