DTN Early Word Grains 08/15 05:48 Grains Lower on Improvement in Crop Condition Ratings December corn is down 5 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 6 1/2 cents, December KC wheat is down 1 1/2 cents, September Chicago wheat is down 6 1/2 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is down 1 1/4 cents. By Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is down 5 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 6 1/2 cents, December KC wheat is down 1 1/2 cents, September Chicago wheat is down 6 1/2 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is down 1 1/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are lower Tuesday morning, reversing Monday's gains in U.S. markets. Ratings agency Fitch indicated they may have to reduce their rating on some major U.S. banks. China lowered their interest rates to stimulate an economy that has slowed much more than anticipated, especially considering its post-Covid status. Meanwhile, Russia raised their interest rates to 12% in an emergency move as the Russian Ruble has been under severe pressure recently. Japan did announce GDP data that was better than trade expectations in the one economic bright spot Tuesday morning. Today we will get U.S. retail sales, Import prices, Business Inventories, and the Empire State manufacturing survey. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous close Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 26.23 at 35,307.63 and the S&P 500 up 25.67 at 4,489.72, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.18%. Early Tuesday, the September Dow Jones Futures are down 232 points. European markets are lower with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 1.52%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.98% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 1.17%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 0.56% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.07%.
