DTN Early Word Grains 08/17 05:47 Grain Prices Mixed: Soybeans Higher on Weather Concerns; Corn, Wheat Lower December corn is down 2 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 2 3/4 cents, December KC wheat is down 1 1/4 cents, September Chicago wheat is down 6 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is down 1 cent. By Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is down 2 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 2 3/4 cents, December KC wheat is down 1 1/4 cents, September Chicago wheat is down 6 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is down 1 cent. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed Thursday morning, with foreign markets lower, catching up to the late selloff in U.S. markets Wednesday. U.S. stocks fell sharply late in Wednesday's session as the release of the Fed minutes indicated continued worry about the stickiness of inflation and more rate hikes may still be needed. Interest rates rose again on Wednesday, as did the U.S. dollar. Overnight, it was reported that Tyson Foods is looking to sell its Chinese poultry business. Reports this morning include the weekly jobless claims report and U.S. economic indicators. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous close Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 180.65 at 34,765.74 and the S&P 500 down 33.53 at 4,404.33, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.26%. Early Thursday, September Dow Jones Futures are up 80 points. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.02%, spot futures of Germany's DAX are trading up 0.03% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index are down 0.07%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 0.44% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.43%.
