DTN Closing Grain Comments 08/31 14:05 Wheat Falters Again With New Contract Lows, Soybeans and Soymeal Plunge Despite Forecast In somewhat quiet trade, the downtrodden wheat market fell again. December futures at all three exchanges dropped to a new low before recovering, but still finishing lower. Corn was modestly weaker, and soybeans and soymeal fell for a third straight day in a correction ahead of the long holiday weekend. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed down 2 1/2 cents per bushel at 4.78 and March corn was down 3 cents at $4.94. November soybeans closed down 18 cents at $13.69 and January soybeans were down 17 3/4 cents at $13.82. December KC wheat closed down 4 1/2 cents at $7.27, December Chicago wheat was down 5 cents at $6.02 and December Minneapolis wheat was down 12 1/2 cents at $7.67.
