DTN Early Word Grains 09/07 05:32 U.S. Crop Prices Steady to Lower Early Thursday December corn was steady, November soybeans were down 6 cents and December KC wheat was down 3 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn was steady, November soybeans were down 6 cents and December KC wheat was down 3 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Thursday, Dow Jones futures are trading slightly higher, holding above the 100-day average with light support from stock prices in Europe. The Shanghai Composite Index in China fell 1.1% after CNBC.com reported exports were down 8.8% in August. China's economy has seen a streak of annual export declines that started in April and is likely related to the continuation of U.S. policy to disengage from China. The U.S. Labor Department's report on U.S. productivity is set for 7:30 a.m. CDT Thursday, along with weekly U.S. jobless claims and an update of the U.S. Drought Monitor. The U.S. Energy Department's weekly report of natural gas storage is at 9:30 a.m., followed by weekly energy inventories at 10:00 a.m. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 198.78 at 34,443.19 and the S&P 500 Index down 31.35 at 4,465.48. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.29%. Early Thursday, September Dow Jones futures are up 9 points. European markets are a little higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.14%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.09% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.45%. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 0.75% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 1.13%.
