DTN Closing Grain Comments 09/08 13:57 Grain and Soy Markets Dreadfully Slow in Quiet and Mixed In very quiet trade, grain and soy markets gravitated around unchanged early before a mixed finish with very little news to drive markets ahead of next week's September WASDE report. Positive news came in the form of both corn and soybean old crop shipments, including the census data rising above the USDA estimates. Traders are bracing for another slide in crop conditions and a bullish drop in yield projections for corn and beans. Wheat fell on the prospect of beneficial rain in the southern Plains. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed down 2 1/2 cents per bushel and November soybeans were up 3 1/2 cents per bushel. December KC wheat finished down 5 cents per bushel, December Chicago wheat settled down 4 cents per bushel and December Minneapolis wheat was down 4 3/4 cents.
