DTN Early Word Grains 10/19 05:45 Grain Prices Mixed, Quietly Consolidating Recent Gains and Pressed by Energy Market Weakness December corn is down 1/2 cent per bushel, November soybeans are up 2 3/4 cents, December KC wheat is down 3 1/2 cents, December Chicago wheat is down 1 1/2 cents and December Minneapolis wheat is down 1 cent. By Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is down 1/2 cent per bushel, November soybeans are up 2 3/4 cents, December KC wheat is down 3 1/2 cents, December Chicago wheat is down 1 1/2 cents and December Minneapolis wheat is down 1 cent. CME GLOBEX RECAP: U.S. equity markets are lower again Thursday morning after a rough day on Wednesday. Economic data continues to run hotter than expected, and the market continues to push interest rates higher as a result. While some Fed members have said that higher market determined interest rates may be doing the job for them, the impact on the economy is the same and worries about recession are popping up again. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 332.57 at 33,665.08 and the S&P 500 down 58.60 at 4,314.60, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.90%. Early Thursday, the December Dow Jones Futures are down 6 points. European markets are mixed/higher/lower with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.78%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.22% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.56%. Asian markets are mixed/higher/lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 1.91% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 1.74%.
