CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are lower to sharply lower after another poor day in the U.S. on Wednesday. Interest rates rebounded, closing just under the 5.0% level on the 10-year note. Those higher rates combined with the earnings report from Alphabet which showed a slowdown in their cloud business, triggered a route in technology shares with the NASDAQ now down over 10% from their highs. New home sales were well above trade expectations, another data point showing the economy running stronger than expected which plays into the "higher for longer" narrative that is triggering concerns about future corporate earnings. Friday, we get inflation information with the PCE index as well as data on personal income and spending.
