DTN Early Word Grains 11/17 05:47 Crop Prices Starting Lower Friday December corn was down 1 cent; January soybeans were down 2 cents; March KC wheat was down 3 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn was down 1 cent; January soybeans were down 2 cents; March KC wheat was down 3 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Friday, Dow Jones futures are higher, still encouraged by this week's signs of easing inflation. Traders remain highly interested in South American weather. A report on U.S. housing starts for October is due out at 7:30 a.m. CST Friday. USDA's monthly Cattle on Feed report for Nov. 1 is set for 2 p.m. A 7% increase in placements from a year ago is anticipated in Friday's report. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 45.74 at 34,945.47 and the S&P 500 Index up 5.36 at 4,508.24. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.45%. Early Friday, December Dow Jones futures are up 90 points. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.94%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.74% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.84%. Asian markets are a little higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.48% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.11%.
