DTN Early Word Grains 12/20 10:16 Grain Markets Mixed Wednesday Morning With Corn, Soybeans Both Higher Despite South American Weather and World Shipping Concerns March corn is up 3/4 cent per bushel, January soybeans are up 6 cents, March KC wheat is down 2 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat is down 2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is down 3 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is up 3/4 cent per bushel, January soybeans are up 6 cents, March KC wheat is down 2 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat is down 2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is down 3 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: U.S. futures are lower Wednesday morning, staging a small correction after another higher session on Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average posted its fifth consecutive record close, while the S&P 500 closed at its highest level since early January 2022. The 10-year note at 3.92% remained under some pressure Tuesday, helping to support equity prices. Housing starts were 200,000 higher than the average trade estimate, which indicates strong demand but also may provide enough supply to help bring down housing price increases. Wednesday we will see reports on existing home sales and consumer confidence. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 251.90 at 37,557.92 and the S&P 500 up 27.81 at 4,768.37, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.92%. Early Wednesday, the March Dow Jones Futures are down 48 points. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.64%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.09% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 0.05%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 1.37% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 1.03%.
