DTN Early Word Grains 12/26 05:30 Trading in Grains Set to Resume At 8:30 a.m. CST Tuesday Friday's Globex closes: March corn was up 1/2 cent, January soybeans were up 4 1/2 cents and March KC wheat was down 3 3/4 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Friday's GLOBEX CLOSES: March corn was up 1/2 cent, January soybeans were up 4 1/2 cents and March KC wheat was down 3 3/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Tuesday, Dow Jones futures are trading a little higher with more signs of interest rate expectations easing. Back from the three-day Christmas weekend, traders will catch up on South American weather and any other pertinent news before trading in grains and livestock futures resume at 8:30 a.m. CST Tuesday. A report on U.S. consumer confidence in December will be out at 9 a.m., followed by USDA's weekly report of export inspections at 10 a.m. Canola futures on the ICE exchange are closed for Boxing Day. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 18.38 at 37,385.97 and the S&P 500 Index up 7.88 at 4,754.63. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.90%. Early Tuesday, March Dow Jones futures are up 55 points. European markets are mostly higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.11%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.13% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.01%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.16% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.68%.
