DTN Early Word Grains 01/12 05:43 Grain Markets Mostly Higher in Anticipation of Friday Morning's USDA Reports March corn is up 1/2 cent per bushel, March soybeans are up 6 3/4 cents, March KC wheat is up 2 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 5 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 3 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst Friday's GLOBEX CLOSES: March corn is up 1/2 cent per bushel, March soybeans are up 6 3/4 cents, March KC wheat is up 2 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 5 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 3 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Most world equity markets are higher Friday morning, reacting to U.S. and U.S. ally attacks on Houthi rebel positions in Yemen, which the market believes might bring a return to normalized shipping through the Red Sea. There is the potential for escalation of hostilities as well, so the reaction is muted waiting to see how the situation develops. Thursday's U.S. market ended mixed after a late rebound in prices. The CPI data released earlier Thursday morning resulted in a sharp selloff as the data showed inflation being slightly higher than trade expectations. Friday morning, we will get PPI data. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 15.29 at 37,711.02 and the S&P 500 down 3.21 at 4,780.24, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.98%. Early Friday, the March Dow Jones Futures are down 60 points. European markets are higher with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.59%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading up 0.73% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 0.89%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 1.5% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.16%.
