DTN Early Word Grains 01/22 05:49 Grain Markets Mixed to Slightly Lower to Start the Week March corn is steady, March soybeans are down 1/4 cent, March KC wheat is down 6 1/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is down 4 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 2 1/4 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is steady, March soybeans are down 1/4 cent, March KC wheat is down 6 1/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is down 4 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 2 1/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets mostly higher Monday morning after a good end to last week that saw the S&P 500 close at a new record high. We are making new highs despite higher interest rates last week where the 10-year closed at 4.14%, up almost 0.2% from last Friday's close. This week we get a number of reports, including the U.S. leading economic indicators Monday morning, Durable Goods, Retail & Wholesale Inventories on Thursday, and PCE Inflation data on Friday. USDA reports should be on the regular schedule this week. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 395.19 at 37,863.80 and the S&P 500 up 58.87 at 4,839.81, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.15%. Early Monday, the March Dow Jones Futures are up 58 points. European markets are higher with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.15%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading up 0.51% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 0.49%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 1.62% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 2.68%.
