DTN Early Word Grains 01/25 05:45 Grain Markets Mixed Thursday Morning March corn is steady, March soybeans are up 3 cents, March KC wheat is up 6 3/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 2 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 5 1/2 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is steady, March soybeans are up 3 cents, March KC wheat is up 6 3/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 2 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 5 1/2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed Thursday morning, with Europe mostly lower and Asian markets trading higher. U.S. markets are mixed after a mixed session Wednesday in which the S&P 500 posted a new record close, but the Dow had losses of about 100 points. PMI data Wednesday from S&P indicated an economy that was a little stronger than traders anticipated. Thursday morning, the highlight number will be a gage of 4th quarter GDP, where traders are expecting 2% growth compared to 4.9% growth in the 3rd quarter. We will also have reports on weekly jobless claims, durable goods, new home sales, and inventories of both retail and wholesale goods. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 99.06 at 37,806.39 and the S&P 500 up 3.95 at 4,868.55, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.18%. Early Thursday, the March Dow Jones Futures are up 99 points. European markets are lower with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.33%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.43% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.44%. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 0.03% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 3.03%.
