DTN Early Word Grains 02/06 05:46 Grain Markets Slightly Higher in Quiet 2-Sided Trade Tuesday Morning March corn is up 1 cent per bushel, March soybeans are up 1 1/4 cents, March KC wheat is up 1 cent, March Chicago wheat is up 1 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 1 1/2 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is up 1 cent per bushel, March soybeans are up 1 1/4 cents, March KC wheat is up 1 cent, March Chicago wheat is up 1 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 1 1/2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed Tuesday morning after higher interest rates caused U.S. futures to retreat from lifetime highs on Monday. The 10-year note closed Monday's session at 4.16%, as this weekend's comments from Fed Chairman Powell reiterated that the Fed needs more evidence that inflation can be maintained at its 2% target before they are willing to begin to lower rates. Traders are also watching the Chinese equity market, which staged a huge rally on Tuesday, as rumors of a government sponsored intervention to support Chinese stock prices made the rounds. The Chinese stock market was up 3.23% Tuesday, the largest rally in over 2 years. We have no major reports Tuesday that will provide any new economic data. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 274.30 at 38,380.12 and the S&P 500 down 15.80 at 4,942.81, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.16%. Early Tuesday, the March Dow Jones Futures are down 54 points. European markets are higher with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.46%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading up 0.01% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 0.18%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 0.53% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 3.23%.
