DTN Early Word Grains 02/09 08:44 Grain Markets Lower in Aftermath of USDA Reports March corn is down 2 1/2 cents per bushel, March soybeans are down 9 3/4 cents, March KC wheat is down 5 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 3/4 cent and March Minneapolis wheat is down 3 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is down 2 1/2 cents per bushel, March soybeans are down 9 3/4 cents, March KC wheat is down 5 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 3/4 cent and March Minneapolis wheat is down 3 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets higher Friday morning after modest gains in U.S. Stocks on Thursday. S&P futures are trading above the 5,000 level, although the index on Thursday couldn't post a close above that psychological resistance. We are rallying U.S. stocks despite interest rates trending higher once again, as Federal Reserve members in recent speeches continue to ratchet down expectations of rate cuts, especially a cut in March. Thursday's jobless claims and wholesale inventories were both in line with expectations. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 48.97 at 38,726.33 and the S&P 500 up 2.85 at 4,997.91, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.17%. Early Friday, the March Dow Jones Futures are up 10 points. European markets are mixed/higher/lower with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.1%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.02% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.16%. Asian markets are mixed/higher/lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 0.09% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 1.28%.
