DTN Early Word Grains 04/01 05:48 Grain Markets Mixed Monday, With Lower Corn and Wheat Offset by Higher Soybeans May corn is down 2 3/4 cents per bushel, May soybeans are up 5 1/4 cents, May KC wheat is down 12 1/4 cents, May Chicago wheat is down 6 3/4 cents and May Minneapolis wheat is down 6 1/2 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: May corn is down 2 3/4 cents per bushel, May soybeans are up 5 1/4 cents, May KC wheat is down 12 1/4 cents, May Chicago wheat is down 6 3/4 cents and May Minneapolis wheat is down 6 1/2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed but mostly higher as traders continue to believe the U.S. Federal Reserve will embark on interest rate cuts sometime this year, possibly as early as June. On Friday, the PCE data widely anticipated by the trade was a little less inflationary than traders were anticipating, which helps drive the narrative that the rates cuts may come sooner. U.S. markets are higher Monday morning. This week, we will get important new data including the ISM manufacturing PMI this morning, along with construction spending. On Tuesday, we get factory orders, job openings and U.S. auto sales. Wednesday brings ADP employment data and the ISM services PMI. Thursday is the weekly jobless claims report and the U.S. trade balance. Finally, Friday will bring the all-important U.S. jobs report for March. In agriculture this week, in addition to the normal weekly reports, we will get U.S. Grain Crushings and the U.S. Fats and Oils report Monday at 2 p.m. CDT. We will also get the initial weekly Crop Progress report Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. CDT. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous close Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 47.29 at 39,807.37 and the S&P 500 up 5.86 at 5,254.35, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.21%. Early Monday, the June Dow Jones futures are up 112 points. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 is steady, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.17% and France's CAC 40 Index is steady. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 1.4% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 1.19%.
