DTN Early Word Grains 04/09 05:45 Grain Markets Slightly Lower Tuesday Morning as Quiet Grain Trade Continues May corn is down 3/4 cent per bushel, May soybeans are down 3 cents, May KC wheat is down 4 1/4 cents, May Chicago wheat is down 5 cents and May Minneapolis wheat is down 2 1/2 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: May corn is down 3/4 cent per bushel, May soybeans are down 3 cents, May KC wheat is down 4 1/4 cents, May Chicago wheat is down 5 cents and May Minneapolis wheat is down 2 1/2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are very quiet Tuesday morning after a mixed session in the U.S. on Monday. Traders seem to be waiting for Wednesday morning's CPI report as the future timing of Federal Reserve interest rate cuts seem to be the only factor the marketplace is contemplating currently. Traders are expecting the CPI report Wednesday to show a rise in March of 0.3%, with year-over-year CPI to be up 3.5%. Any variation from these estimates will likely generate a market reaction. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 11.24 at 38,892.80 and the S&P 500 down 1.95 at 5,202.39, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.42%. Early Tuesday, the June Dow Jones Futures are up 2 points. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.06%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.74% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.63%. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 1.08% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.05%.
