DTN Early Word Grains 07/08 05:42 Grain Markets Sharply Lower to Start the Week, Mostly on Rainfall Forecasts December corn is down 4 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 17 1/4 cents, September KC wheat is down 11 1/4 cents, September Chicago wheat is down 8 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is down 6 3/4 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst WEDNESDAYS GLOBEX CLOSES: December corn is down 4 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 17 1/4 cents, September KC wheat is down 11 1/4 cents, September Chicago wheat is down 8 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is down 6 3/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed with European markets a little higher and Asian markets lower. U.S. markets are nearly unchanged after both the S&P 500 and the NASDAQ closed at new record highs on Friday. Markets Monday morning are digesting election results in Iran, France, and elsewhere, and the impact those results will have on world economics and the geopolitical situation. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 67.87 at 39,375.87 and the S&P 500 up 30.17 at 5,567.19, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.27%. Early Monday, the September Dow Jones Futures are up 4 points. European markets are higher with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.39%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading up 0.53% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 0.42%. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 0.32% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.93%.
