DTN Early Word Grains 07/16 05:47 Grain Markets Higher as U.S. Crop Conditions Disappoint Traders December corn is up 4 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 4 cents, September KC wheat is up 2 3/4 cents, September Chicago wheat is up 4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is up 4 1/2 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is up 4 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 4 cents, September KC wheat is up 2 3/4 cents, September Chicago wheat is up 4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is up 4 1/2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed, but mostly lower, after the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at record highs on Monday. The Dow is a little lower Tuesday morning, but the other U.S. markets are higher. Markets are reacting to U.S. politics with the Republican convention kicking off on Monday and with their VP candidate being announced. Fed Chairman Powell sat for an interview Monday and reiterated mostly dovish sentiment, but he did not commit to the timeframe for a rate cut. This helped firm interest rates slightly on Monday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 210.82 at 40,211.72 and the S&P 500 up 15.87 at 5,631.22, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.23%. Early Tuesday, the September Dow Jones Futures are down 17 points. European markets are lower with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.21%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.45% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.7%. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 0.07% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.08%.
