DTN Early Word Grains 08/16 05:46 Grain Markets Mixed With Corn and Soybeans Once Again Testing Lows December corn is down 2 1/2 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 7 cents, September KC wheat is up 1/2 cent, September Chicago wheat is up 2 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is steady. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is down 2 1/2 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 7 cents, September KC wheat is up 1/2 cent, September Chicago wheat is up 2 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is steady. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed Friday morning after a strong U.S. session on Thursday that continues to anticipate a significant rate cut in September. This week's inflation data was soft enough to support rate cuts, while other economic data was not so poor as to suggest recession. This points to the "soft landing" that the markets have been hoping for. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 554.67 at 40,563.06 and the S&P 500 up 88.01 at 5,543.22. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.93%. Early Friday, the September Dow Jones Futures are down 16 points. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.43%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading up 0.66% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 0.24%. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 3.64% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.07%.
