DTN Early Word Grains 08/20 05:43 Grain Markets Mixed on Strong Crop Conditions but Drier Forecast December corn is steady, November soybeans are down 1 3/4 cents, December KC wheat is up 1 cent, September Chicago wheat is up 1 1/2 cents and December Minneapolis wheat is down 1 3/4 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is steady, November soybeans are down 1 3/4 cents, December KC wheat is up 1 cent, September Chicago wheat is up 1 1/2 cents and December Minneapolis wheat is down 1 3/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed Tuesday morning after another strong close in U.S. markets on Monday. Traders remain focused on Friday's speech from Fed Chairman Powell at Jackson Hole, where he is expected to confirm the likelihood of a rate cut in September. The combination of a slower labor market but "OK" economic data in other parts of the economy are a sign of the soft landing that is keeping the stock market supported. On Monday, the only data released was the U.S. leading economic indicators which were down 0.4%, near estimates at down 0.2%. Traders Tuesday will have two speeches by members of the Fed to focus on. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 236.77 at 40,896.53 and the S&P 500 up 54.00 at 5,608.25. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.87%. Early Tuesday, the September Dow Jones Futures are down 15 points. European markets are lower with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.83%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.13% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.01%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 1.8% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.93%.
