DTN Early Word Grains 09/04 05:48 Grain Markets Mixed Wednesday Morning with Technical Strength Meeting New Grower Selling December corn is down 1/4 cent per bushel, November soybeans are down 6 1/2 cents, December KC wheat is up 3 1/2 cents, December Chicago wheat is up 3 1/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat is up 3 3/4 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is down 1/4 cent per bushel, November soybeans are down 6 1/2 cents, December KC wheat is up 3 1/2 cents, December Chicago wheat is up 3 1/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat is up 3 3/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are lower Wednesday morning as the first trading day of September was the worst start to a new month in over four years. Markets were sharply lower on Tuesday as Nvidia lost 9.5% on rumors that the Department of Justice was investigating the company for potential anti-trust violations. Overnight, Japan's Nikkei fell over 4% in response to the weak U.S. market. Weakness is also coming from lower oil prices that suggest an economic slowdown. On Tuesday, the ISM manufacturing index was 47.2, 0.7 lower than the average trade estimate and another indication of a slowing economy. Wednesday, we will see the U.S. trade deficit, job openings, factory orders, auto sales, and the Fed Beige Book. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 626.15 at 40,936.93 and the S&P 500 down 119.47 at 5,528.93 The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.844%. Early Wednesday, the September Dow Jones Futures are down 83 points. European markets are lower with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.57%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.74% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.89%. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 4.24% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.67%.
