DTN Closing Grain Comments 09/24 13:48 Wheat, Corn Start Strong But Finish Weak; Soybeans, Bean Oil Strong on China Rumors, Port Strike All the markets began Tuesday in the black, but by midsession, both corn and wheat were unable to hold onto gains. Soybeans and soybean oil managed to finish higher but soybeans sold off 15 cents from the high. October bean oil finished higher for the seventh consecutive day, fueled by the strong crude and palm oil markets and the port strike in Vancouver. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed down 1 3/4 cents per bushel at $4.11 3/4 and March corn was down 1 cent at $4.30 3/4. November soybeans closed up 3 cents at $10.42 1/4 and January soybeans were up 3 3/4 cents at $10.60 1/2. December KC wheat closed down 6 1/4 cents at $5.71, December Chicago wheat was down 4 1/2 cents at $5.78 0/1 and December Minneapolis wheat was down 7 1/4 cents at $6.11 3/4.
