DTN Early Word Grains 09/25 05:43 Grain Markets Lower as This Week's Rally Uncovers Some Selling From Growers December corn is down 2 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 10 cents, December KC wheat is down 5 cents, December Chicago wheat is down 2 3/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat is down 6 1/2 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is down 2 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 10 cents, December KC wheat is down 5 cents, December Chicago wheat is down 2 3/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat is down 6 1/2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed and quiet Wednesday morning. After last week's rate cuts and the resulting new highs in equity markets, traders are taking a wait and see attitude regarding future cuts and their impact on new economic data. On Tuesday, the Case-Shiller home price index was slightly weaker than trade expectations, but it was still up 5.9% year-over-year in July. Consumer confidence took a huge hit, and was reported at 98.7 for September, down from 104 in August. This was a surprise to the trade who thought that the consumer might be feeling better with lower gas prices and interest rates. The reason cited for the lower confidence was a labor market that has weakened significantly. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 83.57 at 42,208.22 and the S&P 500 up 14.36 at 5,732.93. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.736%. Early Wednesday, the December Dow Jones Futures are down 52 points. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.1%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.45% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.35%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 0.19% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 1.16%.
