DTN Early Word Grains 10/01 05:46 Grain Markets Mixed as Harvest Progresses, Weather Still a Concern December corn is down 3/4 cent per bushel, November soybeans are down 5 1/2 cents, December KC wheat is up 2 cents, December Chicago wheat is up 1 1/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat is up 3 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is down 3/4 cent per bushel, November soybeans are down 5 1/2 cents, December KC wheat is up 2 cents, December Chicago wheat is up 1 1/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat is up 3 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed Tuesday morning, after Fed Chairman Powell gave a speech on Monday afternoon that mostly reiterated themes from his most recent press conference but with a slight bit of hawkishness. His quote that "risks were two-sided" caused stocks to fall on Monday afternoon, but then they recovered in the last half hour to close the day on the plus side. On this Tuesday morning, we will get the ISM manufacturing PMI, construction spending, and job openings which are all important new pieces of data for traders to look at. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 17.15 at 42,330.15 and the S&P 500 up 24.31 at 5,762.48. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.802%. Early Tuesday, the December Dow Jones Futures are down 114 points. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.39%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading up 0.23% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.14%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 1.93% and China's Shanghai Composite Index is steady.
