DTN Closing Grain Comments 10/23 13:38 Quiet Midweek Trade as Corn, Soybeans Finish Higher With Wheat Mixed Despite Outside Market Pressure It was a mixed to mostly positive Wednesday session for grains as outside markets provided pressure. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is currently posting a third consecutive down session, thrown back from a record high on Friday, driven by investor concerns over increasing 10-year interest rates. All three major grains faced chart resistance Wednesday, with corn managing to close above its 100-day moving average, while beans failed to hit $10.00, and Kansas City wheat challenged downside support but was able to hold. Rhett Montgomery DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed up 2 1/2 cents and March corn was up 2 3/4 cents. November soybeans closed up 5 3/4 cents and March soybeans were up 3 1/4 cents. December KC wheat closed down 1 cent, December Chicago wheat was up 2 1/2 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was down 1 1/2 cents.
