DTN Closing Grain Comments 11/18 13:43 Ag Markets Build Off Friday's Reversal to Close Higher Monday It was a fairly strong session for grain markets Monday as grain and oilseed futures were able to build off Friday's newfound momentum to make decent climbs higher to start this week. The U.S. Dollar index showed a correction from its calendar year highs Monday as well, which aided corn and soybeans in their recoveries. The market continues to watch South American weather very closely as dry areas particularly in southern Brazil/northern Argentina are slated to get needed moisture over the next two weeks. Should these weather events fail to perform as advertised, we may see production concerns begin to manifest, especially in regards to Argentinian corn production which has at least the earliest planted portion of the crop likely entering pollination and very susceptible to stress. Rhett Montgomery DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed up 5 1/4 cents and March corn was up 4 1/2 cents. January soybeans closed up 11 1/4 cents and March soybeans were up 10 1/4 cents. December KC wheat closed up 15 1/4 cents, December Chicago wheat was up 10 3/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was up 12 1/2 cents.
