OMAHA (DTN) -- Retail fertilizer prices continue to be mostly higher than last month, according to prices tracked by DTN for the fourth week of November 2024.
Seven of the eight major fertilizers were higher in price compared to a month ago. Once again, no fertilizer had a sizeable price increase or decline. DTN designates a significant move as anything 5% or more.
The seven slightly higher fertilizers are DAP which had an average price of $740/ton, MAP $811/ton, 10-34-0 $611/ton, anhydrous $718/ton, UAN28 $323/ton and UAN32 $364/ton.
One fertilizer was slightly less expensive than a month ago. Potash had an average price of $443/ton compared to last month.
On a price per pound of nitrogen basis, the average urea price was $0.54/lb.N, anhydrous $0.44/lb.N, UAN28 $0.58/lb.N and UAN32 $0.57/lb.N.
Intrepid Potash named Kevin Crutchfield to head the company effective immediately, according to Dow Jones.
Crutchfield brings with him more than three decades of global mining experience to the diversified mineral company. More than 20 years were in leadership, operating and technical experience in public company and board of director roles.
Most recently, he served as chief executive of Compass Minerals. Before that, he was the CEO of Alpha Natural Resources and later Contura Energy, since renamed Alpha Metallurgical Resources.
Two fertilizers are now higher in price compared to one year ago. 10-34-0 is 3% higher while DAP is 4% more expensive looking back to last year.
The remaining six fertilizers are lower. MAP is 1% lower, UAN28 is 5% less expensive, urea is 10% lower, UAN32 is 11% less expensive and both potash and anhydrous are 15% lower compared to last year.
DTN gathers fertilizer price bids from agriculture retailers each week to compile the DTN Fertilizer Index. DTN first began reporting data in November 2008.

If President-elect Donald Trump follows through on tariffs on Canadian products, U.S. farmers could see higher fertilizer prices, according to Dow Jones. You can read about it here: https://www.dtnpf.com/….
