DTN Early Word Grains 12/16 05:45 Grain Markets Higher, Led by Wheat on Russian Production Concerns March corn is up 2 cents per bushel, January soybeans are up 2 3/4 cents, March KC wheat is up 5 1/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 3 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 4 1/2 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is up 2 cents per bushel, January soybeans are up 2 3/4 cents, March KC wheat is up 5 1/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 3 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 4 1/2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed again Monday morning, with Europe lower on growth struggles while U.S. markets are slightly higher in anticipation of this week's Federal Reserve meeting. In addition to the Fed meeting, we will see the empire state manufacturing survey and S&P flash PMI's on Monday, retail sales on Tuesday, housing starts on Wednesday, jobless claims, GDP, and home sales on Thursday, with the new PCE data on Friday. In agriculture, there is a new NOPA crush estimate on Monday and cold storage and cattle on feed reports on Friday, in addition to the regular weekly reports. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 86.06 at 43,828.06 and the S&P 500 down 0.16 at 6,051.09. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.399%. Early Monday, the December Dow Jones Futures are up 38 points. European markets are lower with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.26%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.2% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.63%. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 0.03% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.16%.
