DTN Closing Grain Comments 12/18 13:51 Most Active Soybeans Trade to Lowest Level Since August 2020 in Bearish Session for Oilseeds The soybean market continues to lead the overall ag complex lower as most active soybean futures suffered their largest daily loss since mid-July as traders are clearly losing patience for a South American weather event to ease some of the supplies woes currently suppressing the market. Outside market influence for Wednesday was mixed as equities are recovering following the Dow Jones Industrial Average's historic nine-day loss streak. The U.S. Dollar Index continues its climb back toward November highs, posting seven sessions higher in the past eight. Crude oil is attempting to snap a two-day loss streak as well but remains burdened by U.S. oil stocks running 18% above this time last year per the Energy Information Administration's Wednesday Petroleum Status report.
