DTN Closing Grain Comments 12/19 13:45 Ag Markets Recover Slightly From Wednesday Selloff Ag commodities were mixed for most of the session on Thursday following an ugly day for price action Wednesday led by a bearish soy complex. Soybeans Thursday posted a modest recovery after trimming a quarter off nearby prices Wednesday, with soymeal and soy oil also following suit. Wheat markets continue to face technical pressure while corn markets were able to find a footing without as much negative influence from other markets as compared to Wednesday. Outside markets leaned negative Thursday as Thursday's hawkish sentiment from the Fed has the U.S. Dollar Index at a new calendar year high and the highest mark since November 2022. Gold futures are also feeling the effects of less inflationary concerns following the Fed meetings, challenging monthly lows.
