DTN Closing Grain Comments 12/30 13:39 Ag Markets Hit Technical Roadblock in Two-Sided Trade to Begin Week Ag markets opened Sunday evening with strength following a very positive Christmas week for grains in particular. However, strength faded by midsession Monday as it is likely producers and traders alike returned from Christmas break ready to reward the market rallies with fresh sales. Outside market influence to begin the week was negative, with equity markets down and interest rates continuing to push into higher territory on the heels of the Federal Reserve's hawkish stance at their December meeting a couple weeks ago. Rhett Montgomery DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed down 1 3/4 cents and May corn was down 1 1/2 cents. March soybeans closed up 2 cents and May soybeans were up 2 1/2 cents. March KC wheat closed up 1 1/4 cents, March Chicago wheat was up 1 3/4cents, March Minneapolis wheat was down 2 1/4 cents.
