DTN Early Word Grains 01/03 05:45 Grain Markets Lower After Mixed Start to 2025 March corn is down 1 1/2 cents per bushel, March soybeans are down 6 cents, March KC wheat is down 3 cents, March Chicago wheat is down 2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is down 1 3/4 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is down 1 1/2 cents per bushel, March soybeans are down 6 cents, March KC wheat is down 3 cents, March Chicago wheat is down 2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is down 1 3/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed after what turned out to be a lower beginning to the year in 2025. U.S. markets gave up early gains and closed lower as uncertainty around U.S. trade policies and higher market-based interest rates both helped provide some fear about future corporate earnings in 2025. Friday morning, the market will get the December ISM manufacturing PMI, which is expected to show that U.S. manufacturing remains in contraction below the 50 level. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 151.95 at 42,392.27 and the S&P 500 down 13.08 at 5,868.55. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.575%. Early Friday, the March Dow Jones Futures are up 73 points. European markets are lower with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.13%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.3% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.85%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index steady and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 1.57%.
