DTN Early Word Grains 01/06 05:50 Grain Markets Higher on Dry Forecasts for Southern Brazil, Argentina March corn is up 5 cents per bushel, March soybeans are up 13 3/4 cents, March KC wheat is up 4 3/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 6 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 5 3/4 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is up 5 cents per bushel, March soybeans are up 13 3/4 cents, March KC wheat is up 4 3/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 6 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 5 3/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: European markets higher. On Friday, U.S. markets rebounded after a poor start to the new year and broke a four-day losing streak. A better-than-expected ISM manufacturing index suggested that U.S. manufacturing had just about moved out of its contraction phase, and back into growth. There is a lot of new data coming this week, the first full week of the new year. On Monday, we will see factory orders and the S&P services PMI. Tuesday brings the ISM services index, the U.S. trade deficit, and the Job openings (JOLT) report. Wednesday has consumer credit and the ADP employment report. Thursday is Jobless claims and wholesale inventories, while Friday will bring consumer sentiment and the and U.S. Employment report. In agriculture, in addition to the normal weekly reports, we will get Friday's delayed CFTC report on Monday afternoon, and we will get the USDA supply and demand report along with the USDA grain stocks reports on Friday. Thursday's day of mourning for President Carter will delay the weekly export sales report and all other USDA reports from Thursday to Friday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 339.86 at 42,732.13 and the S&P 500 up 73.92 at 5,942.47. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.596%. Early Monday, the March Dow Jones Futures are up 134 points. European markets are higher with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.04%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading up 1.03% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 1.45%. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 1.47% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.14%.
