DTN Closing Grain Comments 01/07 13:46 Ag Markets Curb Early Losses to Close Near Even in Quiet Session Grain markets had a slightly softer tone Tuesday with wheat leading the way higher on updated crop ratings from some key USDA field offices. Corn and soybean futures were able to reverse early selling activity as the forecast for the next 10 days in Argentina continues to provide support, albeit to a lesser degree in soy markets. Outside market influence was mostly negative Tuesday with equity markets down and the U.S. Dollar Index working to snap a two-day loss streak as well. Rhett Montgomery DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed up 1/4 cents and May corn was up 1/2 cents. March soybeans closed down 1/2 cents and May soybeans were down 1 cents. March KC wheat closed up 2 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat was up 2 cents, March Minneapolis wheat was up 2 1/2 cents.
