DTN Early Word Grains 01/07 05:47 Grain Markets Lower as Corn, Soybeans Retreat From Resistance Levels March corn is down 2 1/2 cents per bushel, March soybeans are down 8 cents, March KC wheat is up 1 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat is down 1 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 2 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is down 2 1/2 cents per bushel, March soybeans are down 8 cents, March KC wheat is up 1 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat is down 1 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed after Monday's session that saw gains in the S&P 500 but small losses in the Dow. Monday's S&P PMI services number was not as good as expected, and factory orders were also below expectations. The weaker economic indicators seemed to support tech stocks as a weaker economy might help the case for further interest rate cuts. Tuesday morning, we will see the ISM services index, the U.S. trade deficit, and the Job openings (JOLT) report. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 25.57 at 42,706.56 and the S&P 500 up 32.91 at 5,975.38. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.618%. Early Tuesday, the March Dow Jones Futures are up 29 points. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.16%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading up 0.33% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 0.51%. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 1.97% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.71%.
