DTN Early Word Grains 01/08 05:47 Grain Markets Mixed With Soybeans Slightly Higher on southern Brazil, Argentina Weather Concerns March corn is down 1/2 cent per bushel, March soybeans are up 1 cent, March KC wheat is down 2 3/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is down 3 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is down 2 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is down 1/2 cent per bushel, March soybeans are up 1 cent, March KC wheat is down 2 3/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is down 3 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is down 2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed, but U.S. markets are higher Wednesday morning after a disappointing session on Tuesday in which equity prices fell in response to higher interest rates that rose after a stronger than expected ISM services index and a stronger JOLTS report. The higher interest rates hit tech stocks hardest, with some AI stocks falling 5-8%. Wednesday morning, we will get the ADP employment report, wholesale inventories, consumer credit, and initial jobless claims (one day early). Federal government offices will be closed on Thursday to honor former President Carter. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 178.20 at 42,528.36 and the S&P 500 down 66.35 at 5,909.03. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.683%. Early Wednesday, the March Dow Jones Futures are down 9 points. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.21%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading up 0.5% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.12%. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 0.26% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.02%.
