White wheat bids broke out of a nearly month long sideways trek, as spot prices conceded gains in Chicago and moved a nickel higher on Tuesday. Spreads between old crop and new crop white wheat bids remains unusually tight, with August 2025 bids at a 10 cent premium to nearby old crop bids. Shipments...Weekly export inpsections revealed another relatively low pace of wheat movement off U.S. ports last week, coming in at 10.6 million bushels. This places year-to-date wheat shipments at 478 million bushels and 25% ahead of the same period a year ago. Hard red spring was the top mover at 3.5 million bushels, followed by hard red winter with 2.8 million and white wheat with 1.4 million. West coast exporters moved a total of 3.6 million bushels of wheat, going mostly to Japan, along with 18.1 million of corn and 12.4 million bushels of soybeans. - Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2025 DTN/Telvent.
