DTN Early Word Grains 01/16 05:46 Grain Markets Lower, Correcting Recent Gains March corn is down 3 1/4 cents per bushel, March soybeans are down 13 1/4 cents, March KC wheat is down 7 1/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is down 5 1/4 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is down 3 3/4 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is down 3 1/4 cents per bushel, March soybeans are down 13 1/4 cents, March KC wheat is down 7 1/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is down 5 1/4 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is down 3 3/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed in the aftermath of a very strong session in U.S. markets on Wednesday. The new CPI data released on Wednesday morning was mostly in line with trade expectations, but some portions of the data showed a moderation of inflation that was not expected by traders. This resulted in a very strong rally, recovering all the losses that have been seen year-to-date. Thursday we will see retail sales, weekly initial jobless claims, import prices, business inventories, and the home builder's confidence index. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 703.27 at 43,221.55 and the S&P 500 up 107.00 at 5,949.91. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.653%. Early Thursday, the March Dow Jones Futures are up 22 points. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.86%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.16% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 1.75%. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 0.33% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.28%.
