DTN Early Word Grains 01/29 05:47 Grain Markets Higher on Strong Demand, South American Weather Concerns March corn is up 5 1/2 cents per bushel, March soybeans are up 6 3/4 cents, March KC wheat is up 6 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 3 3/4 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 6 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is up 5 1/2 cents per bushel, March soybeans are up 6 3/4 cents, March KC wheat is up 6 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 3 3/4 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 6 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed Wednesday morning, after a rebound on Tuesday as traders tried to gain a greater understanding of the Chinese technology breakthrough and the impact of that on U.S. technology firms, and on potential future energy usage to power AI. Wednesday the focus will shift to the U.S. Federal Reserve, as their meeting will conclude Wednesday morning and Fed Chairman Powell will have a press conference Wednesday afternoon to discuss their decision. It is widely expected that interest rates will remain unchanged, despite urging from President Trump for a rate cut. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 136.77 at 44,850.35 and the S&P 500 up 55.42 at 6,067.70. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.551%. Early Wednesday, the March Dow Jones Futures are down 11 points. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.25%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading up 0.74% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.2%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 1.02% and China's Shanghai Composite Index is steady.
