White wheat basis remained defensive against higher Chicago futures, reflective of markets struggling with attracting lower protein soft white and club wheat to meet Pacific Rim demand. Shipments...Weekly export inspections revealed another good week for wheat movement off US ports, coming in above 20 mb to put loadings at 295 mb and 16% behind a year ago. Hard red spring was top shipper with 7 mb, followed by hard red winter with 6.2 mb and white wheat with 4.4 mb. Crop Progress..USDA reports winter wheat plantings lagging the average pace for Oregon and Washington, as persistent dry conditions are delaying activity. Oregon stands 10% behind at 27% complete and Washington is also 10% behind at 66% planted, while Idaho is on track with average at 60% in. Montana is 17% ahead of average at 86% complete. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2015 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
