DTN Early Word Grains 11/11 05:58 The Morning After Finds Grains Higher December corn was 2 cents higher, January soybeans were 3 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 5 cents higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 2 cents higher, January soybeans were 3 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 5 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: Grains traded higher overnight with contracts holding above unchanged during the course of the session. Trade volume was low-to-moderate, with Dec corn showing 19,500 contracts changing hands. However, gains were only a small part of Tuesday's post-USDA report sell-off. Outside markets were mostly lower with both gold and crude oil showing losses. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 27.73 points higher Tuesday at 17,758.21. The NASDAQ Composite was down 12.06 points at 5,083.24. DJIA futures were 36 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mixed with the Nikkei up 20.13 points at 19,691.39 and China's Shanghai Composite was 9.76 points higher. European markets were mostly higher. The U.S. dollar index was down 0.167 at 99.126. Crude oil was $0.48 lower at $43.73 while Brent crude was $0.21 lower at $47.23. December gold was $0.20 lower at $1,088.30. Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were both lower.
