Front side markets on the red wheats remain somewhat defensive, with several exporters not posting bids on spot delivery and paring back basis levels. Premiums continue to be posted for maximum 10.5% protein on soft white and club wheat. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed another relatively slow week of wheat movement off US ports, coming in about on par with last week at 9.9 mb. Top shipper for the week was soft white wheat, coming in at 2.9 mb, and going to Taiwan, South Korea and Japan. Hard red winter registered a total of 2.8 mb. Overall US wheat shipments stand at 365 mb and 16% behind last year. Crop Progress...Recent moisture across the Pacific Northwest has improved winter wheat conditions, most notably for Oregon which saw good to excellent gain a point from last week to 15% and poor to very poor decline 3 points to 15%. Washington dropped 3 points to 38% good to excellent, while Idaho held steady at 66%. Montana was also unchanged at 73% good to excellent. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2015 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
