Japan has returned to the market this week, seeking a total of 4.4 mb of wheat from the US, Canada and Australia to cover some of their February requirements. A major Pacific front is pushing heavy moisture across the PNW this week, with most of the moisture hitting open ground and being put to use by the winter wheat crops. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed a relatively slow week of shipments for wheat off US ports, coming in at only 8 mb for all wheat and 7 mb off the pace needed to make current USDA projections. Shipments for the current year stand 15% behind last year at 387 mb. Hard red winter was top shipper, at 3.4 mb, followed by soft red winter at 2.7 mb and hard red spring at 2 mb. Soft white wheat loadings came to a virtual standstill for the week. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2015 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
