DTN Early Word Grains 04/11 06:01 Soybeans Ignore Other Grains, Push Higher May corn was 1 cent lower, May soybeans were 5 cents higher, and July Kansas City wheat was 4 cents lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: May corn was 1 cent lower, May soybeans were 5 cents higher, and July Kansas City wheat was 4 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: Soybeans were able to hold overnight gains through early Monday morning despite lower trade in both corn, wheat, and energies. Gold was also higher, supported in part by a slightly lower U.S. dollar index. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 35.00 points higher at 17,576.96, the NASDAQ Composite was up 2.32 points at 4,850.69, and the S&P 500 fell 5.69 points to close at 2,047.60 Friday. DJIA futures were 47 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mixed with the Nikkei down 70.39 points (0.4%) while China's Shanghai Composite rallied 49.00 points (1.6%). European markets were mostly higher though London's FTSE 100 was down 3.60 points (0.1%). The U.S. dollar index slipped 0.070 to 94.165. Crude oil fell $0.23 to $39.49 while Brent crude dropped $0.14 to $41.80. June gold was $7.50 higher at $1,251.30. China's Dalian soybean futures were higher while Malaysian palm oil futures were lower again.
